As an earlier reviewer opined, this is more a rug for office space than living space; that is, it is more for walking on, or rolling a chair over, than getting down and playing with kids or pets on. That isn't a problem for me, as my intended purpose was to put it over a hardwood floor in my home office. On the bare floor alone, my chair rolls way too readily. I had hoped to slow it down some with this carpet and that is exactly what it does. For this purpose, and used without underlayment, it carries out its role quite well. But as a family room rug, it would be lacking, though it touts itself as suitable for serving in that role. Thus 4 stars, even though it is performing as a 5 star product for my specific purpose.
