I purchased this rug to replace one that was much darker brown because I wanted to "lighten up" the area a bit more; this did the job! I was concerned, however, that this rug would show too much dirt, but that proved not to be the case. The off-white/slightly greyish background color is very forgiving!I did, however, trim off the fringe on the ends. Personal preference on my part - mostly to avoid getting it tangled up into the vacuum cleaner. Looks just fine without the fringe.The rug feels plenty comfortable underfoot - while not super plush, it's not thin, either. Quite comfortable underfoot.
